THERFIELD PARISH COUNCIL – CHAIRMANS REPORT  12/07/2022

First of all I would like to thank everyone who helped to make the Jubilee celebrations in Therfield and Kelshall such a success. I have had several “well done” messages from villagers particularly regarding the beacon lighting and fireworks…together with the dog show which also contributed significantly to church/village funds. Thankfully we got very good weather which went to making it such a memorable event.

Unfortunately Covid is still with us and as I write there are several villagers who are suffering with it. I sincerely hope everyone concerned only has minor symptoms and have very quick recoveries! I would ask that everyone continues to be vigilant whilst the virus is still so prominent.

Following from my last report, we have now erected No Parking sings around the triangular piece of green in the centre of the village. This has been necessary as there have been several “near miss” reports because of vehicles having to position themselves on the wrong side of the road to avoid parked vehicles directly on the junction. We are hoping that this has the desired effect as it seems almost certain that there would be an accident if vehicles were not dissuaded from parking there.

Finally a word to all the villagers of Therfield and Kelshall who have joined the Community Hub. Our numbers continue to gradually increase. So again, a big thank you to everyone who positively contributes to the site and its usage.
